ABOUT JOSEPH LUCIO
Hi, I'm Joseph Lucio

Background
My name is Joseph Lucio, and I’m proud to be running for Cameron County Commissioner here in Precinct 2.
I was born and raised right here in Cameron County, and now my wife and I are raising our two kids here.
VISION & COMMITMENT
Like many of you, we’re feeling the squeeze — groceries cost more, gas costs more, and it seems like government doesn’t always see or hear us.
I believe our county should do better. Precinct 2 alone manages over $1 million in roads and bridges funding, yet most residents never see how those dollars are spent. That’s why I’ll publish an annual Infrastructure Report Card so you can track every project and every penny.
And while commissioners voted themselves raises, too many of our county staff are struggling.
That’s not leadership.
I’ll fight for fair pay, clear career ladders, and a minimum salary threshold for the people who keep our county running every day.
I’m running to bring new energy and real change to our county government.
Not for insiders, not for politics — but for every family in our community.
Together, we can build a county that works for all of us, and a future that we’ll be proud to hand to our kids.
I’d be honored to earn your support, and your vote.
Thank you.
Joseph's Platform
My Priorities for Cameron County Precinct 2
Our county is facing real challenges. From rising costs that hit every household to a lack of transparency in how taxpayer dollars are spent, too many residents feel left out and unheard. My platform is simple: make every dollar count, make government fair, and make our community stronger for the future.
Accountability and Transparency
-
Precinct 2 controls more than $1.09 million in roads and bridges funding, but residents rarely see how those dollars are used.
-
I will publish an annual Precinct 2 Infrastructure Report Card so every resident can track where money is going, what projects are underway, and what progress is being made.
-
County government should work in the sunlight, not behind closed doors.
Fair Pay for County Staff
-
While commissioners gave themselves raises, too many county staff are struggling. That’s not right.
-
I will push for fair raises, clear career ladders, and a minimum salary threshold so that every employee can support their family with dignity.
-
Investing in our workforce means better services for residents.
Fiscal Responsibility for Families
-
Families are tightening their belts — county government should do the same.
-
I will ensure spending focuses on core needs like roads, public safety, and essential services, not wasteful or self-serving projects.
-
Every tax dollar should reflect the priorities of the people, not special interests.
